Day 3: Lake Havasu

This is A-grade Arizona. We drive to Salvation Mountain from the movie ‘Into the Wild’, a surprising colourful desert oasis which begs to be photographed and tells the story of one man’s belief, plus a photo stop at the majestic sand dunes. We continue on to our final destination for the evening, Lake Havasu. Why not cool off with a refreshing dip and check out the original London Bridge. We kid you not!

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 4-5: Grand Canyon

Wow! You may be lost for words. Nothing you have ever seen before will prepare you for this spectacular site! Hike from the forest above to the desert below, red rock to white powder or take an optional helicopter flight for a birds-eye view and marvel at the brilliant colours. The canyon depths are nothing short of mind-blowing. Then again so is the sunrise and that’s free.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 6-7: Las Vegas

We travel along a section of the original Route 66, which at one time, was the only way to travel on the great American road trip, and stop at the town of Seligman. As the desert city comes into view, luminous Vegas ups the ante – the greatest show on earth! Catch some Vegas rays by the pool then dive into The Strip in style on an optional limousine tour. Indulge in an all you can eat buffet, take in a show or people-watch. Enjoy the neon attractions many hotel casinos have to offer, take an optional helicopter flight down The Strip or gamble in world class casinos before hitting the clubs.

Day 8-10: Sierra Nevada & Yosemite National Park

Wind through peaks with views across the Sierra Nevadas that will have you itching to get your trekking boots on, and there is no better place than one of nature’s greatest back yards, Yosemite National Park. Day 11-12: San Francisco

Making our way to San Francisco today (be sure to not call it Frisco as the locals hate it) we visit the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland. It was built in 1852 and is the oldest continuously operating saloon in California. Upon arrival to San Francisco, enjoy a driving tour visiting Haight Ashbury, the area that parked thousands of hippies to ‘Turn on, tune in, drop out’ and the chance to walk over the Golden Gate Bridge. During your free day you will fall for San Francisco’s charm while touring Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf before an included cruise on the bay for an unforgettable sunset, before bar hopping ’til the tiny hours. Mission and Marina Districts usually check the right boxes.

Accommodation: Hotels included in tour price

Day 13: Monterey, Big Sur & Pacific Coast

Hit the city of Monterey, one of California’s most historic cities and enjoy a walk along the coastline where it is common to see whales and sea lions frequenting these waters between April and October. Next we drive to see the iconic waterfall viewing point of Big Sur State Park before continuing onto our overnight campground on the California Coast and watch the sunset over the sparkling Pacific Ocean.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 14: Santa Barbara & Los Angeles

We drive to Santa Barbara, located between the steeply rising Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean and has been described as the “American Riviera”. Enjoy free time to absorb the last of the California sunshine on the beach, explore the lively pier area or hit the many shops. In the afternoon we head back to ‘La La Land’ for a chance to strut your stuff down the star studded Hollywood Boulevard and for a final holiday snap of the famous Hollywood sign.
