The Canyon Adventure offers a wide range of outdoor activities in some of the most spectacular settings in the Southwest. Explore, experience and discover the Real America in the incomparable canyonlands of Arizona and Utah including two nights at the Grand Canyon; plus a once in a lifetime overnight whitewater rafting trip down the Colorado River! From the Navajo tribal lands on Monument Valley, to vast deep canyons and towering mountains, as well as incredible walking trails this all-encompassing tour is a true western treasure and not to be missed!

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops, highlights, and included experiences, but with lots of optional activities to choose from, stops at some of your leaders favourite places and occasional changes in local conditions no two Trek trips are ever the same so come ready for a unique adventure.

As this tour departs at 0730 we recommend that you book pre-tour accommodation. Please request hotel details at the time of booking.


Day 1-2: Las Vegas & Zion National Park

Leave the bright lights of Vegas behind and kick back and relax beside the gentle flow of the Virgin River in Zion National Park, cutting its way between sheer red rock cliffs. Zion national Park is one of Western America’s gems and offers loads to fill your time such as the quite incredible (and highly recommended) hike to Angels Landing for stunning 360-degree views of this magnificent national park and valley, visit Emerald Pools or hike down into the Valley.

Day 3: Bryce National Park

You’ll be left struggling to describe this fantastical place, where erosion has carved thousands of spires, fins, arches and mazes into a weird and wonderful landscape, collectively known as “hoodoos”! Your mouth will drop open when you cast your eyes over the park form the viewpoints. You will walk along the rim to begin with, absorbing the strange rock formations from different angles, followed by a hike into the valley for close encounters of the hoodoo kind. You will be blown away!

Day 4-5: Moab/Arches National Park

The vast landscape of sandstone goblins leaves travellers wondering if they are on another planet as endless shapes of intricately eroded creatures greet visitors to Goblin Valley State Park. There is free time to explore before making our way to Moab, North America’s premier adventure playground! Mountain bike along slickrock trails, kick back and take in the scenery on an extreme Hummer tour, take a breathtaking stroll to Delicate Arch or just relax and enjoy the awe-inspiring views of Canyonlands National Park from Dead Horse Point.

Day 6: Overnight Rafting Trip

Trade in our home on wheels for a customized white water raft and conquer the 100 miles of Colorado River from Moab to Hite Marina through the legendary Cataract Canyon. Journey through some of the most remote and protected wilderness in the desert southwest and spend a night under the stars on one of the world’s greatest rivers. The elements and atmosphere conspire with heart-pounding action to create an experience you will never forget!

Day 7: Rafting Trip & Monument Valley

After breakfast we continue our rafting adventure down the Colorado River. The steepest descent of the Colorado River is encountered with these rapids in Canyonlands National Park. The raft hits some of its most well known and respected Grade III – IV rapids like “Satan’s Gut” and “Little Niagara” in the famous Big Drops. The raft trip ends with a relaxing cruise across Lake Powell, a stunning red rock and blue green water wonderland.


We’re on the road again and off to Monument Valley, one of North America’s most iconic landscapes, used as the set for countless Hollywood scenes, from Westerns to 2001: A Space Odyssey. Be amazed as our Navajo guide takes us deep into the sacred valley on an optional 4×4 tour under the azure Arizona sky.

Day 8-9: Grand Canyon National Park

Canyon’d out yet? We didn’t think so! Especially when we’re talking about one of the world’s seven natural wonders. Staying two nights is an open invite to explore some of those cliff-top walking trails and monumental observation spots. Enjoy a beautiful sunrise or an unforgettable optional helicopter flight over this incredible natural wonder.

Day 10: Grand Canyon National Park & Las Vegas

Today we drive a section of the original Route 66, made famous as the ultimate road tripping road, and once the main road of America connecting east with west. Stop at the Snowcap Diner where you can try one of their famous milkshakes. We then trade in the wonders of the great outdoors for the wonders of Las Vegas with its incredible clubs and casinos, and celebrate a great southwest adventure Sin City-style.


This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
