Tour Itinerary

As this tour departs at 0730 we recommend that you book pre-tour accommodation. Please request hotel details at the time of booking.

Day 1-3: San Francisco, Yosemite National Park 25-26 Dec

The scenery changes fast after touring San Francisco, with the road twisting and turning until Yosemite National Park comes into view. What better way to spend Christmas than snowshoeing under frosted Sequoias and frozen waterfalls. Although most travellers visit here during the summer months, there is nothing quite as magical to see Yosemite decorated under a blanket of snow.

Accommodation: Hotel included

Day 3: Barstow 27 Dec

We’ve all dreamed of cruising down historic Route 66 on the great American road trip and you’ll be doing just that as you roll into lively Barstow. Kick back in the heart of the Mojave, the gateway to Death Valley, and enjoy the desert view over a burger at Peggy Sue’s classic American Diner.

Accommodation: Hotel/lodge included

Day 4: Death Valley National Park 28 Dec

Trade your mittens and woolly hats for sunscreen and shades! Leaving early we visit one of the hottest places on earth, Death Valley! In this below-sea-level basin, steady drought and record summer heat make Death Valley a land of extremes. Towering peaks are capped with winter snow and rainstorms bring vast fields of wild flowers. Lush oases harbour tiny fish and refuge for wildlife and humans. Despite its morbid name, a great diversity of life survives in Death Valley and winter is the best possible time to visit.

Accommodation: Hotel/lodge included

Day 5-6: Zion National Park 29-30 Dec

Onto Zion National Park, where a desert oasis is transformed by a blanket of snow. Here too, warm winter temperatures are perfect for exploring the canyon without the summer crowds. The best of both worlds. There is a huge offering of beautiful trails to explore including the hike to Angels Landing which offers remarkable views over the valley below, but subject to weather conditions.

Accommodation: Hotel/lodge included

Day 7-8: Las Vegas 31 Dec-01Jan

Rolling into Las Vegas on a natural high, life can’t get much better than that, or can it? Kick off those boots and throw on your glad rags for the party of your life! And nobody does it like Vegas! If you’re looking for the one New Year’s Eve party you’ll remember for the rest of your life, look no further. The Strip fills with revellers; fireworks explode over the massive hotels; the casinos and nightclubs are packed; the showrooms are filled with A-list entertainers and Vegas is more gloriously alive than you’ve ever imagined it could be! New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas is truly a world-class celebration. Keep the party rolling right on through with a private limousine tour of The Strip on New Year’s Day.

Accommodation: Hotel included

This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs on New Year’s Day. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
