Cho Oyu is the sixth highest Himalayan peak out of 14th Highest peaks in the world and one of the most beautiful mountains of the world, it’s means “Turquoise Goddess” in Tibetan. It is one of the prominent Himalayan peaks for mountaineering expeditions.its altitude is a serious undertaking and requires It is said that Cho Oyu means ‘Goddess of Turquoise’,as its stark shadows appear this colour in the light of the setting sun when viewed from Tibet. This mountain is a vast bulk of sweeping snow slopes and clean glaciated lines; a most noble and impressive first 8000m peak. careful preparation and a high level of fitness. It has a great history of mountaineering right from the time when many mountaineers were trying their luck of Everest. The date was on 19th October, 1954 Herbert Tichy, Sepp Jocher and Pasang Dawa Sherpa Lama (Austrian Expedition) had conquered to reach on top of Mt. Cho Oyu. There was an interesting fact about the expedition that bottled oxygen was not used. From that time onwards, more that 500 mountaineers have conquered successfully on top. Most of them have climbed from the Tibet side because the mountain is steep on the Nepal side but it looks fairly plain towards the Tibet side. Following our acclimatisation walks in Nylam and Tingri, we will arrive at the Chinese Base Camp where we begin our exciting preparations to move up to Base Camp at 5700m via an Intermediate Camp at around 5400m, to aid acclimatisation.

 

Itinerary in Detail

 

Days 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel.

Days 02-04 : Stay in Kathmandu for preparation Visa to Tibet.

Days 05 : Drive Kathmandu to Zhangmu (2350m)

Days 06 : Drive Zhangmu to Nyalam (3750m)

Days 07 : Rest day at Nyalam for acclimatization.

Days 08 : Drive Nyalam to Tingri (4342m)

Days 09 : Rest Day at Tingri for acclimatization.

Days 10 : Drive to Cho-Oyu Base Camp (4700m)

Days 11-13 : Cho-Oyu Base Camp

Days 14 : Base Camp to Advance Base Camp (5200M)

Days 15 : At Advanced Base Camp

Days 16-41 : Climbing Period

Days 42 : At Advanced Base Camp (6500m)

Days 43 : Advanced Base Camp to Base Camp

Days 44 : Drive Base Camp to Nalayam at Hotel.

Days 45 : Drive Zhangmu to Kathmandu.

 

OR

 

Days 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel.

Days 02-04 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu for visa procedure.

Days 05 : Fly to Lhasa (3600m)

Days 06 : Visit Drepung and Sera Monastery.

Days 07 : Visit Potala Palace, Jhokhang and Bharkhor Market.

Days 08 : Free day at Lhasa.

Days 09 : Drive to Xigatse. (3900m)

Days 10 : Drive to Xegar. (4350m)

Days 11 : Drive to Cho-Oyu Base Camp (4700m)

Days 12-14 : Cho-Oyu Base Camp

Days 15 : Base Camp to Advance Base Camp (5200M)

Days 16 : At Advanced Base Camp

Days 17-37 : Climbing Period

Days 38 : Advanced Base Camp to Base Camp

Days 39 : Base Camp.

Days 40 : Drive Base Camp to Nyalam.

Days 41 : Drive Nyalam to Kathmandu.
