Namik Glacier Trek

 

The Namik glacier is situated on Kumaun Himalayas at an attitude of 3,600 mtrs. The glacier is surrounded by peaks like Nanda Devi (7,848 m), Nanda Kot (6,861 m), and Trishul (7,120 m). There are a number of waterfalls and Sulphur springs originating around this glacier.

Here you are in the heart of the Himalayan wilderness surrounded by the biggest peaks – Nanda Devi (7848 m), Nanda Kot (6861m), Trishul (7120 m). The trail passes through pristine villages with strong local culture and ancient temples. These villages are rich in heritage from the Indo- Tibetan trade route and particularly the two villages of Gogina and Namik. The trail generally follows the Ramganga river through deep forests and rolling meadows with eternal Himalayas in constant view.

Itinerary For Namik Glacier Trekking Tour

Day 01: Kathgodam – Chaukori (2010 m)

Morning arrive at Kathgodam railway station then drive to Chaukori through the pleasant Kumaun countryside including the Almora Township. Check in Hotel. (Chaukori is famous for the tea gardens and splendid views of the snow covered Himalayas.)

 

Day 02: Chaukori – Munsyari (2290 m)

In the morning after breakfast we will drive to Munsyari. The quaint Munsyari town with the Rolling Meadows, small town and with spectacular views of the Panch chuli range is considered by many as one of the most beautiful spots in Kumaun. Check in Hotel Munsyari.

 

Day 03: Munsyari – Senar Gad Meadows

(7 km trek)

After breakfast we will trek up to Senar Gad Meadow. Dinner and over night stay in tent.

 

Day 04: Senar Gad – Dhaldauk

(11 km trek)

In the morning after breakfast trek to Dhaldauk .This is an easy walk through a rarely trekked route, a popular trail with the shepherds and commands even more picturesque views of the Panch chuli hills. Dinner and over night stay in tent.

 

Day 05: Dhaldauk – Sudamkhan

(7 km trek)

After breakfast trek up to Sudamkhan the views from here are unforgettable. Dinner and over night stay in tent.

 

Day 06: Sudamkhan – Hiramani Glacier

(9 km trek)

After breakfast trek to the Hiramani Glacier. Dinner and Over night stay near the glacier.

 

Day 07: Hiramani Glacier – Namik Glacier –(3600 m) Sudamkhan

(14 kms trek)

After breakfast we start our trek to Namik glacier enjoy the beautiful Mountain View with. Nanda kot peak it is very close to us then return back to Sudamkhan. Dinner and over night stay at the Camp.

 

Day 08: Sudam khan – Namik Village

(11 km trek)

After breakfast we start our trek to Namik village. Namik was one of the centers in the region for the Indo-Tibetan trade route. The houses have lots of woodcarvings and traditional structures.

Over night stay village/ tent.

 

Day 09: Namik Village – Gogina

(6 km trek)

After breakfast we start our trek to Gogina village, it is situated in the heart of Ramganga Valley. At the meadows we are likely to meet shepherds also on the way visit to the Kimu village. Dinner and over night stay at the Village/ Camp.

 

Day10: Gogina – Liti

(16 km trek)

 

After breakfast we start our trek to Liti, This is a descent down the Ramganga valley to the road head at Liti. Dinner and Over night stay at the Village/ Camp.

 

Day 11: Liti – Bageshwar- Nainital

In the morning drive to Nainital, on the way visit Bageshwar, in the evening chick in the Hotel.

 

Day 12 : Enjoy and Explore the mall

Full day relax or visit local view points in Nainital. In the Evening drive to Kathgodam railway station.
