Bhatkot Spirituals & Adventures Trek
The peak of Bhatkot (original name Bharat-kot, meaning Bharat’s fort, named after Rama’s brother who is supposed to have meditated here). At 9086 ft, it is the highest peak in Dist. Almora (Kumaun) it is believed to be the meditation spot of famous saints such as Mahavtar Baba, Haidakhan baba and Nantin baba.

Route of the trail (Itinerary):-
Day 1:- Pickup from Kathgodam railway station, drive to Kausani. Check in the Hotel. At an altitude of over 6075 ft the Kausani is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and imagination-stirring scenic beauty, which has earned it the status of the ‘Switzerland in India’, Even Mahatma Gandhi was so enamored of its dazzling natural beauty.
Day 2:- After breakfast Drive to Kantli village then climb up to Jawan Pinaknath (young Pinak ) a big festival is organized here after Diwali , again climb to Budha Pinaknath It is a straight, steep climb, you can enjoy the silence of nature.
The Shiva Temple at the Budha Pinak you can see a panoramic view of Snow caped Mountains. Night camp in the Budha pinak.
Day 3:- After breakfast trek to the Bhatkot Mountain (9086 ft). it is undiscovered path. Enjoy walking thru the forest and rocks then search your way. It is not easy should not be attempted alone. After reaching to the top, hear the sound of hart and recognize your self. Over night camping.
Day 4:- After breakfast trek to Pandukholi. The name Pandukholi is also derived from the legend, ‘Pandu’ meaning the sons of Pandu that is Pandav and ‘kholi’ meaning shelter. The temple here has statues of Shiva and those of the five Pandavas.
This area is particularly known for naturally growing multi-colored flowers and rare medicinal herbs. Over night stay at Pandukholi.
Day 5:- After breakfast visit Mahavatar Babaji Cave. as the legend goes, in the mid 1800’s, Mahavatar Babaji brought Lahiri Mahasayaji here to this cave and initiated him into Kriya yoga and told him to spread the message of these teachings. On the way of Ranikhet visit Dunagiri temple, Legend has it that when Hanuman was carrying the rock laden with ‘Sanjiwani buti’ to rescue Laxman injured in the battle of Ramayana, after having tea drive to Ranikhet. Check in the hotel. Evening explore Ranikhet city, and then back to Hotel.
Day 6:- Morning visit to Chaubatia garden (7164 ft) also visit government horticulture garden and Himalayan views, evening drive to Kathgodam railway station.
